Artist Statement
I am a contemporary realist whose work blossoms from the quiet resilience of an Artistic Dreamer. My journey began in silence — twenty years without hearing — when painting became not just therapy, but my truest voice. Each brushstroke carried emotions that words could not hold, transforming absence into presence, and silence into song.
Texture became my language after a profound moment: a deaf and blind man traced the contours of my canvas with his hands and declared, “Patricia, your sunflower is beautiful.” His touch revealed what sight alone could not, inspiring me to sculpt surfaces that invite both the eye and the hand into dialogue.
Through sand, glass beads, modeling paste, and glazes, I weave a style I call Contemporary Impressionism Realism — a fusion of impressionistic light, realist detail, and abstract whispers. My canvases explore nature, wildlife, and human connection, seeking not only to be seen, but to be felt. Each piece is a story layered in texture, a bridge between worlds, and an invitation to experience beauty in all its dimensions.
Artist Biography: Patricia Pasbrig
Patricia Pasbrig is a contemporary realism artist renowned for her textured mixed media paintings and gourds. Her journey as an artist has been deeply influenced by her personal experiences. She took art classes, met other artists, and volunteered at the Milan Art Institute. Her passion for texture was inspired by a profound encounter with a deaf and blind man who felt one of her paintings and recognized the subject without being told.
